Plants: Deployed!

Garden
Saturday brought us some really lame weekend weather: rainy and 50s. Today was sunny and perhaps as high as the 70s. It was a perfect day to send my little green babies out into a world full of cats and raccoons and birds who would like nothing more than to eat them all up right now.

I got quite a bit done:
Sectioned off the garden. Sowed all of the direct-plant seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, beet, pea) and planted all of the viable sprouts I had (watermelon, cantaloupe, onion, soy).

Tomorrow I’ll move seven of the tomato and lettuce plants out into the new hanging planters I engineered today. The tomatoes will grow upside-down and the lettuce will grow on top.

Hydroponics
The hydroponic strawberries are coming along fantastically! So much so that I’ve decided to move forward on the expansion of the hydroponics rig: forced air foggers.

I will set up a battery of three planters in a closed circuit which will circulate nutriated fog around the clock under a grow light. In addition to the strawberries I already have going, I will continue to grow some of the tomatoes inside and perhaps some exotic small fruits if I can find the right one(s).

Photos
At this moment, I am uploading 1GB of new photos taken this weekend. I’ll embed some of them tomorrow.
